Jr Panthers Feeder Program
Welcome
Welcome Letter from Coach Dre Perry
Dear Families,
Welcome to the Langston Hughes Jr. Panthers Feeder Basketball Program website. I am truly excited that you are here and considering our program for your young athlete.
As a coach and leader who has been blessed to work with athletes at many levels, including several successful seasons here in the feeder program as well as with the nationally recognized XYZ Travel Basketball Program, I can tell you this: there is something special about Panther Pride. Our program is built on a foundation of hard work, discipline, and community, and we take great pride in developing young athletes into not only strong basketball players but also strong young men and women.
The Jr. Panthers are more than a team. We are a family. We compete in one of the toughest junior basketball conferences in the state, and our athletes learn early what it means to prepare, compete, and succeed against top competition. Along the way, they gain experiences that will prepare them for high school, college, and life beyond the game.
If you are looking for a place where your child can grow, be challenged, and be supported, I encourage you to consider the Langston Hughes Jr. Panthers. We have a proud tradition, a proven track record, and a commitment to shaping the next generation of Panthers.
Thank you for taking the time to visit us online. I look forward to the possibility of welcoming you and your athlete into our family.
With respect and Panther Pride,
Coach Dre Perry

ABOUT
The Langston Hughes Jr. Panthers Feeder Basketball Program was founded in 2016 with one clear mission: to give boys and girls in grades 5 through 8 an opportunity to grow as athletes, students, and leaders while representing our community with pride. Competing in the highly competitive Cobb County Junior Basketball Conference (CCJBC), our program has quickly built a reputation for excellence on and off the court.
From the very beginning, Panther Pride has fueled our journey. In just a few short years, we have celebrated multiple region championships, several Final Four appearances, and the unforgettable 2018 8th Grade Boys Championship. Most recently, in 2025, our 8th Grade Girls finished as CCJBC Runner-Up, rising above 41 schools across the conference.
The CCJBC is one of the largest and most competitive junior basketball leagues in the state, with 41 high schools each fielding feeder teams at the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade levels. Divided into four regions, the league challenges our athletes through required region play and competitive non-region matchups. Only the top eight teams from each region advance to the playoffs, making every game a test of character, skill, and teamwork.
As the only feeder program in South Fulton County, the Langston Hughes Jr. Panthers proudly carry the torch for our community. Our program has already played a role in shaping state championship high school teams and producing collegiate athletes, proving that Panther Pride does not stop at the middle school level. It is the foundation for future success.
Looking ahead, we are excited about the next generation of young talent wearing Panther colors. With a strong culture, passionate coaches, and unwavering support from our families, we are building more than just basketball players. We are developing leaders prepared to compete at the highest levels.
At Langston Hughes Jr. Panthers, the journey starts with us.
